SPINE has gotten out of the stockades. I’m going to leave a lot of the things they’ve done to her up to your imagination. She’s out and looks like jumped the fence to ERCON. Hopefully, it’s worth all the trouble. Istanbul, forgive me. The match is lit.

Oh man…that is not quite how I imagined the conditioning would go.
How did you think it would’ve been?
Reminds me of a friend of mine who has a split personality because of a terrible experience. She couldn’t cope with the things that had been done to her, and the things she had to do, so she became two shes. If that is what happens in truth inside the human spirit, I can’t say for sure, but it’s a fair enough approximation. So, now there’s Spine and Dilara. Dilara is beaten but loyal and “still in the stockade”. Spine took matters into her own hands. Betcha that she still feels guilty deep down inside.
I really like your interpretation of the situation. Gary mentioned he sees as she was going insane, repressing her memories. His interpretation was that, she’s getting raped – and repressing the memories, thinking that she’s eating worms. There’s definitely some sort of a split and a repression going on. My thoughts don’t matter at this point, it’s all about your interpretations. I just hope we can see Dilara again.
That first panel is my new favorite thing you’ve ever drawn
Thanks JM! I do like it too
Okay, I love this page. Very dark, but I love it.
Thanks! Things got a lot darker since I quit smoking. Maybe It’s just a coincidence. But, I’m sure some of my inner struggle of fighting off the withdrawals is showing up on the pages as worms, splitting, etc. Those are all new ideas. The events took place in the original script that I wrote – but, I’m changing a lot of the details for these recent pages.
Mm. Me too. This could be temporary. When people encounter something too powerful for them to live with, they must either destroy it or become it. It’s not so much that we can’t deal with any trauma dealt to us. It’s if we believe that we can’t, but still must, that splits occur between the parts we thought were us and the undeveloped, darker, harder aspects of our spirits which we aren’t aware of or aren’t willing to accept.
